Please join CEJ Community Talk Series, The Gemmies Whatsapp Group and JSA for a very important conversation about keeping you safe and secure as a studio jeweler, retailer and artist working with precious materials. We love our community and as some of you may or may not know, there have been a rash of devastating studio break ins and burglaries in California. Many studio jewelers and artists have been crushed by these losses as many have lost their entire body of work, their archive, materials and even tools that they create with.

We will be joined by Scott Guginsky of the Jewelers Security Alliance to discuss these recent break ins. The JSA has been analyzing a list of recent break ins to discuss what we can do as a community to protect ourselves from theft and the vulnerability while working in precious materials. We will be discussing who could be behind these crimes, how to protect yourself and how to work with law enforcement. We will also give you a digital privacy and security check list, which is a tool to check your digital presence and vulnerability to digital predators and how to remove yourself from data sites that might be revealing too much about you.

This is the first of an ongoing series about safety and security. We will dive deeper into how to protect yourself and your business from thieves, break ins, the aftermath and how to ensure you are as safe, secure and protected as possible.
