We are delighted to share that Marianna Smirnova has joined Community for Ethical Jewelry as our new Executive Director.

Marianna brings more than 18 years of experience in sustainability, human rights, responsible sourcing, due diligence, and mineral supply chains. Most recently, she served as Senior Advisor to the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) and the Global Battery Alliance (GBA), following many years in leadership roles with the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI). Throughout her career, she has worked alongside many of the organizations helping shape responsible sourcing efforts worldwide.

While Marianna's experience is exceptional, what stood out most throughout the search process was her collaborative approach and commitment to meaningful change, qualities that align closely with CEJ's mission and values.

As we look ahead, we are excited about what Marianna's leadership will bring to our organization and community. In the coming months, she will be connecting with members across CEJ to learn more about your priorities, challenges, and aspirations for the organization. Those conversations will help shape the work ahead and ensure CEJ continues to evolve in ways that create meaningful value for our members and the industry we serve.

Because of the passion, expertise, and commitment of our members, CEJ is stronger than ever. We look forward to building on that foundation with Marianna and continuing to strengthen the community, programs, and partnerships that make CEJ such a valuable resource for our industry.
